Hobart’s Chimienti and Silard Recognized

Two members of the No. 15 Hobart College ice hockey team were honored by the ECAC West as announced by the conference office today. Junior goaltender Lino Chimienti (Montreal, Quebec) was tabbed the Co-Goalie of the Week, and first-year forwardAndrew Silard (Greenwich, Conn.) was selected the Rookie of the Week.

 

It’s the third time Chimienti has earned the award this season. He posted two wins in goal over the weekend. On Friday night, Chimienti logged his second career shutout in a 7-0 win over Salve Regina. He turned aside all 43 of the Seahawks’ shots he faced for a season-high in saves. Chimienti was just two off his career-high. On Saturday, he played all 60 minutes in a 4-3 win over Nichols and finished with 36 saves. Chimienti posted a 1.50 GAA and a .963 save percentage on the weekend. This season, he is 6-3-0 in goal and is sporting a 2.68 GAA and a .918 save percentage.

 

Silard shared a team-high with four points on two goals and two assists this weekend. He chipped in a goal and an assist against Salve Regina on Friday night and posted the same stat line in the win over Nichols on Saturday. His assist on Saturday, came on senior Peter Ryan’s game-winning goal with 3:28 left in regulation. Silard has posted three goals and three assists this season. He is tied for ninth in the league in first-year scoring.
