Hobart College first-year defenseman Reid Lindsay was named to the USCHO.com All-Rookie team that was announced. He is the fourth Statesman to earn USCHO.com All-Rookie team honors.
Lindsay was one of four Statesmen to appear in all 28 games this season. A native of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, he made an instant impact on the blueline during his rookie campaign. Partnering with Blake Coffey on Hobart’s top defensive pair, Lindsay recorded 17 points on three goals and 14 assists. He added 19 blocked shots. Lindsay recorded his first collegiate point, an assist in Hobart’s home opener against Manhattanville. He scored his first collegiate goal in Hobart’s 6-1 win at Southern Maine on Nov. 5. Lindsay recorded a season-high three points on three assists as the Statesmen rolled to a 12-1 win over Johnson & Wales and had four multi-point games. He had an assist in Hobart’s NCAA quarterfinal contest against Adrian.
Lindsay was also named to the NEHC All-Rookie team.
Senior goalie Liam Lascelle was named to the USCHO.com All-Rookie team back in 2018-19. Tanner Shaw ’19 and Frank Oplinger ’18 received honors from the website during their first season as Statesmen.
Hobart finished the 2021-22 season with a 20-6-3 overall record. The Statemen posted a 13-2-2 record in New England Hockey Conference play on their way to claiming the regular season title. Hobart was selected to the NCAA tournament for the seventh consecutive season and advanced to the quarterfinals where it was defeated by the eventual national champion Bulldogs.
