Hobart College senior forward Brad McBride (Lone Tree, Colo.) was named to the 2014-15 American Hockey Coaches Association/CCM East All-America third team as announced last night. It’s the 10th time a Statesman has been named an AHCA All-American.
McBride played in all 28 games this season, finishing the year with an ECAC West-high 13 goals and nine assists. He led the team and was fifth in the conference with five power-play goals. McBride opened the season with a pair of assists at Brockport. Two weeks later, he scored the first of his two game-winning goals to beat Utica in overtime. McBride notched a season-high three points (2g,1a) in a home win over Salve Regina in mid-January. The first team All-ECAC West selection helped Hobart capture its third ECAC West Tournament Championship, assisting on the Statesmen’s regulation goal against Neumann in the title game. Hobart won the contest 2-1 in overtime.
Hobart tied the program record for wins in a season, finishing with a 21-7-0 mark. The Statesmen finished first in the ECAC West regular season standings with a 12-3-0 record. Hobart also earned its fifth appearance in the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championship field.
McBride transferred to Hobart from the Air Force Academy. In three seasons with the Statesmen, he appeared in 79 games, recording 27 goals and 25 assists. Hobart went 54-21-6 during McBride’s time on the team, capturing the 2012-13 and 2014-15 ECAC West regular season titles, as well as this year’s conference tournament championship.
A standout in the classroom as well, McBride is a two-time ECAC West All-Academic Team selection.
