Iroquois 2
Hamburg 5
Playing their first road game of the season the junior varsity Chiefs played the always tough Hamburg Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were a little older and more experienced making the game a true test for Iroquois. While the score might display a loss of 5-2 the Iroquois players learned some valuable lessons. Providing the first period offense for Iroquois were sophomore Luke Pukalo and freshman Nick DiChristafaro. Defensively, Jack Zienski and Tyler Kaplewicz played big minutes in this contest thwarting the Hamburg players on more than few rushes. Playing great protecting the cage was Alex Musielak. He kept the game close and battled hard all night. Iroquois record is now 1-1.

Heading into the third period with a 2-1 Cheektowaga was not to kept scoring two quick goals to start the period to take the lead. Fortunately, Iroquois didn’t blink and quickly answered back on a nice goal from Luke Pukalo with an assist from Mitchell Carlsen. With game tied Iroquois took an untimely penalty and played the last 90 seconds shorthanded. Killing the penalty perfectly were Pukalo and Paul Fitzgerald, who scored the game winning goal on a breakaway with 13 seconds left in the game. This thriller was backstopped by Zac Vitez who in his first JV school game stood on his head. Defensively, Josh Glenn and Patrick Moran were fierce and heady making some great outlet passes. Iroquois record is now 2-1.
