BROOKLYN (Dec. 16, 2015) – The New York Islanders announced today that the team, in conjunction with the Arbour family, has partnered with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America to allow fans the opportunity to purchase the commemorative “AL” patch. The patches are currently worn on all three Islanders game jerseys in memory of Hall of Fame coach, Al Arbour who passed away in August.
The patch will cost $10 with proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
Fans looking to purchase the patch and have it pressed onto their Reebok Premier jersey, can visit any of the following locations:

Arbour’s resume is full of team records, including wins as Islanders Head Coach (779) and games coached (1,601). He stood behind the Islanders bench for 19 seasons, putting together one of the most illustrious coaching careers in NHL history. Arbour led the Islanders to four straight Stanley Cup Championships (1980-1983), which is a mark no team has met since. Under his leadership, the team put together 19 straight playoff series victories, which still stands as the longest such streak in all of pro sports.
