A closely-contested Game Two resulted in a North York Rangers 5-4 overtime victory over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres on Thursday evening at HARBORCENTER.

Back and forth play, end to end, goal after goal — it was a battle through 60 minutes. The Rangers potted the gfame-winner just under five minutes into the first overtime period.

North York opened the scoring early, with Keegan Blasby putting the Rangers up 1-0 just 45 seconds in.

Griffin Lunn came back with the quick response to tie it about 90 seconds later for his second of the postseason. Tim Nicksic notched the lone assist for his first point of the night.

Just under three minutes later, Bryce Ferrell scored on the power play to give Buffalo a 2-1 lead. Christian DiFelice and Aaron Reinig had the helpers.

The first-period scoring wasn’t done, however, as North York’s Michael Morgan scored his first of the game on the power play to tie it.

Morgan followed up and potted his second of the game late in the second period, again on the man advantage, to give the Rangers the lead.

But Tim Nicksic had a little something to say about that, tying the game once again with under two seconds to go in the middle frame. Wilson Vershay and Griffin Lunn notched the assists

Chris Sekelyk once again gave the Rangers a lead, but again, Buffalo had a quick response as Josh Biasillo tied it 30 seconds later. Nicholas Bondra had the lone assist after a hard-working night.

After sixty minutes, teams hit the ice for overtime. Sekelyk notched the game-winner.

The series is now tied at one win apiece; it now heads to North York for games three and four. The next game at HARBORCENTER is March 10.
