PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College Department of Athletics and Recreation and director of athletics Ed Manettaannounced the promotion of Julie Hudson to the role of assistant athletic director/compliance assistant. Hudson previously held the title of assistant to the director of athletics for five years before adding on compliance assistant responsibilities last year.

“In my nearly two years with Manhattanville, Julie has been one of if not the most valuable member of the athletics department,” said Manetta. “To me, the decision to promote her was an easy one. For the previous five years, she has and will continue to ensure that the Manhattanville Department of Athletics and Recreation successfully operates on a day-to-day basis.”

In her new role, Hudson will continue to be responsible for assisting the director of athletics in day-to-day administrative functions. She will also continue to co-direct the office of compliance along with the compliance coordinator. Hudson will continue to assist in travel logistics for all 22 varsity programs and oversee all of the athletics graduate assistants. She will continue to serve as the department’s office manager as well as the assistant to the athletic director and supervise all coaches on administrative duties.

“I am beyond grateful and excited to take on my new role as Assistant Athletic Director,” said Hudson. “I want to thank Ed ManettaJulene Caulfield and the entire athletics staff, past and present, for helping me to grow both professionally and personally during my time here at Manhattanville. Being a Valiant is unlike any other college experience in that you become a part of a family. I am honored and eager to continue my growth with the Valiant family and work together to further improve the student experience.”

Hudson will continue to plan the department meetings and events, handling all of the schedules, agendas and orders as well as act as a liaison to the rest of the college departments for all special events, including alumni events, fundraising, student-athlete meetings, Hall of Fame and more. She will also continue to assist with the reconciliation of department finances and management of game contracts for all 22 varsity programs.

Hudson, an alumna of both the undergraduate and graduate programs at Manhattanville, was awarded her bachelor’s degree in English in May 2013, graduating magna cum laude. A highly recognized student, Hudson received Portfolio Honors and Departmental Honors, was a member of the Dean’s List during every semester of her undergraduate career and was a Board of Trustees Scholarship winner. In August of 2014, she completed her masters in teaching with a 4.0 GPA.
