Buffalo Jr. Sabres captures another home victory at the Northtown Center at Amherst Wednesday night as they defeated Milton Icehawks by a score of 6-2. This comes after a stretch where the team hasn’t played in a week.
The first period was a tough battle throughout the period, but Buffalo edged the Icehawks ending the first period up 2-1. Buffalo’s goals came from Nick DeSimone, from Ryan Kuhn and Nolan Sheeran, and the other from Pat Egan from Nathan Black and Brandon Schaber.
Second period was tilted more in favor of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres as well scoring three in the third compared to Milton’s one. The goals came from Michael Ederer, Nathan Black, and Pat Egan on the power play.
In the third play got a little heated as both teams had players ejected for fighting. Ryan Schmelzer the captain of the team had the only goal in the third period making the final 6-2. The assist on the Schmelzer goal go to Mason Evans and Pat Egan.
The goaltender for buffalo Joseph Pianta had 22 saves on 24 shots he faced. This win improves Buffalo’s record to 8-2-1. The next home game for Buffalo is Tuesday October, 22 at 7:30 at the Northtown Center at Amherst.
