The junior varsity Chiefs kicked off the 2015-2016 hockey season in fine fashion last weekend beating the Tonawanda/North Tonawanda JV hockey team 5-1. Playing with a short bench of only 11 skaters the Iroquois Chiefs used their skill and speed to dismantle their opponent. Leading the way was sophomore Sam Rider who added a goal and two assists to a strong smart performance away from the puck. Other goals came from sophomore Josh Harris, and freshman Dylan Giancarlo and Colton Czajka. New additions to this years team also aided in the victory. Alden’s Eric Matoon scored a terrific breakaway goal while Alden goalie Andrew Zelak stopped all but one shot on the road victory.
