COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Knoxville Amateur Hockey Association, one of 10 recipients of a $25,000 grant provided by The USA Hockey Foundation through Labatt USA’s Pass It Forward initiative, will host its 5th Annual Hockey Night in Knoxville, Tennessee, tomorrow (Jan. 23). The association will use the event, in part, to showcase a new sled hockey program it will begin thanks to funding provided by the grant.
KAHA will utilize the $25,000 to purchase sleds, sticks, ice time and uniforms.
In addition to highlighting its sled grant, Hockey Night in Knoxville will feature multiple games at the youth level, including a cross-ice session, and a collegiate club game between the University of Tennessee and Liberty University.
Notes: In November, The USA Hockey Foundation, through the Labatt USA Pass It Forward initiative, announced 10 programs to share $250,000 equally to grow the sport of sled hockey. About the Labatt Pass it Forward Initiative
Labatt USA’s Pass It Forward initiative was created to help in providing access to hockey for everyone. Through the initiative, Labatt Blue is bringing partners together and increasing awareness to sled hockey through national advertising, commercials, promotions, social media and limited edition packs of Labatt Blue and Labatt Blue Light sled hockey cans. Highlighting Labatt Blue’s sled hockey awareness initiative is its partnership with national sportscaster, John Buccigross, who is serving as a key ambassador.
