Kearns Agrees To One-Year Deal

BROOKLYN – The New York Islanders announced that Bracken Kearns has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract.

Kearns, 35, led the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in goals (23), assists (30), points (53) and plus-minus rating (+17) last season during his first year with the club. He also appeared in two NHL games with the Islanders, recording one assist.

A native of Vancouver, BC, Kearns has appeared in 33 career regular-season NHL games with the Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks and the Islanders. He also played seven Stanley Cup Playoff games with San Jose in 2013. In 591 career AHL games with seven different teams, Kearns has scored 344 points (139 goals, 205 assists). He played in the 2012-13 AHL All-Star Game.
