KGI Moves to Championship Game

Teagan Willats had the game winning goal for Kenmore/Grand Island in the Plattsburgh Girls Ice Hockey Tournament yesterday. With the 6-2 win over Saranac Lake Placid, KGI moves on to face Plattsburgh in the Championship game at 10:30 a.m. today (Saturday, January 8).

Scoring the first goal was Emiliana Cassillo, assisted by Willats and Carissa Buyea. Cassillo had a second goal, unassisted and Isabella Jayme scored a power play goal. Madison Flory also had a goal. Assisting were Jayme, Isabelle Bourgeault and Ava Incorvaia.

Jordan Hofschnieder started the game and made 7 or 9 shots on goal and Samantha Horne finished making 13/13 saves.

For SLP both goals were scored by Dariana Patterson. First one assisted by Mia Nichols and second goal was unassisted. Kelsey McKillip stopped 28 of 34 SOG.

KGI faces Plattsburgh in the Championship after Plattsburgh defeated Potsdam 1-0 in a shoot out.

Consolation game pits Potsdam againt SLP at 12:30 today.
