The Lady Islanders are holding Tryouts tonight –April 11 at 7:55 to 8:55 for 19U).

Other tryouts will be held Tuesday, April 16 for the 10U/12U team and the 14U team. 10U/12U’s will meet from 7:20 to 8:20 p.m. and 14U’s from 8:20 to 9:10 p.m.

The 12U/14U tryouts will be held Thursday, April 18 from 7:10 to 8:10 p.m.

All new players must supply a proper release from last year’s travel organization, where applicable. There is a tryout fee of $50 for 12U/14U/19U and $25 for 10U.

The Lady Islanders 10U team took first place in each tournament they took part in this season. The 12U team came in second at both of their tournaments and the 14U team was undefeated in the GAL League and are GAL League Champions.

Despite not taking home any trophies, the 19U team had a very strong showing in the States.
The Lady Islanders will participate in the MAWHA League. The decision to continue to participate in the GAL league is under review as we also explore the formation of a new league with the Long Island Amateur Hockey League. Depending on attendance at tryouts the Lady Islanders will offer teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U and 19U levels. All teams will be registered as Tier II teams, however 19U will play ‘up’ in higher divisions at tournaments and opportunities to be visible to college coaches will be offered. Additionally, 19U will have some full ice practices each month. The Lady Islanders are governed by the LIAHL and USA Hockey.
