Casey Adimey of the Lindenwood women’s hockey team has been named CHA Defenseman of the Week as announced by the Conference on Monday. This marks the second-consecutive week the Lions have earned a weekly honor with Natalie Ferenc capturing Goalie of the Week last week.

Adimey had a huge weekend on the blue line for Lindenwood in the teams two wins over St. Thomas by scores of 4-3 and 4-1, respectively, seeing the Lions win streak improve to four games for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

In game one on Friday, the Amherst, N.Y. native netted the game-winning goal in the overtime session, her first goal of the year. The senior defenseman continued her strong play in game two, finding the back of the net at the 17:50 mark of the first period, which extended Lindenwood’s lead. Adimey picked up a helper on a score by Rachel Goff early in the final frame and then sealed the victory, finding the empty net with 1:56 to go.

Adimey found the back of the net three times in the series, her first three goals of the year. Two of those goals were the game-winning tally, while one came on the powerplay. Through 18 games this season, Adimey has compiled three goals and five assists for a total of eight points.

Lindenwood will return to the ice on January 7-8 when the Lions take on Ohio State in a two-game series. Puck drop in game one is set for 5:00 p.m. CST.
