ANNVILLE, Pa. – Following his second career multi-goal game on Saturday, junior Cory Anderson (Bakersfield, Calif./Notre Dame Hounds (SJHL)) of the Manhattanville College men’s hockey team was recognized as the Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, the conference office announced on Monday.
Anderson scored two of Manhattanville’s four goals in the team’s lone game of the week, a 4-1 MAC and UCHC victory over King’s (Pa.) College on Saturday night. The junior forward tied the game at one late in the first period with his sixth goal of the year, and then added the only goal of the second period for a key insurance goal.
Anderson has appeared in all 21 games as a junior, scoring seven goals with six assists for 13 points. The forward ranks third on the team in goals and fifth in points so far this season, and has already matched his career-high in goals with at least four games still remaining. In 69 games as a Valiant, Anderson has scored 21 goals with 27 assists for 48 points.
Anderson and the Valiants will celebrate their seniors this weekend with two big UCHC contests at Playland Ice Casino, beginning on Friday night at 7 p.m. versus Chatham University.
