Dylan McLaughlin – Canisius
Junior, Forward – Lancaster, NY/Cedar Rapids Roughriders
McLaughlin tied for the Atlantic Hockey lead in points and led all conference skaters in goals as Canisius split a pair of games against Mercyhurst. He notched five points with four goals and one assist, one goal coming in the third period of Canisius’ 4-3 overtime loss on Friday and a hat trick in Saturday’s 7-3 victory. He also added an assist in the Saturday triumph for a four-point outing.
Defensive Player of the Week
Matt Abt – RIT
Senior, Defense – Leduc, ALB/Whitecourt Wolverines
Abt had a goal and an assist, was plus-4, had five blocks and helped keep Robert Morris’ top line quiet in a weekend sweep of the Colonials. He was plus-2 and blocked three shots in a 5-3 win Friday. Then on Saturday, Abt scored a goal, added an assist, was plus-2 and had a pair of blocks in a 5-2 win.
Goalie of the Week
Paul Berrafato – Holy Cross
Senior, Goalie – Williamsville, NY/Amarillo Bulls
Berrafato backstopped the Crusaders to a 1-0-1 weekend against visiting Air Force. He recorded his second shutout of the 2017-18 season, stopping all 27 shots faced. Berrafato made 26 saves on 29 shots the following night as Holy Cross and Air Force tied, 3-3.
