MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Women’s Ice Hockey team suffered their first loss of the 2015-2016 season on Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup against the Pioneers from Utica College.
After scoring 21 goals over the weekend against Daniel Webster, the Mustangs could not find the back of the net against Utica College. The Pioneers scored their lone goal with just sixteen seconds left in the first period.
The Mustangs outshot the Pioneers in the second period, but were unable to get anything past Utica’s goalie.
Despite giving up a late first period goal, Renee Schmaltz (Beaumont, Alberta) tallied 28 saves in goal for Morrisville.
The Mustangs will return home to host Sacred Heart on Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29 in two more non-conference match ups. Game times are 6 PM and 12:30 PM respectively.
