MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Northeast Women’s Hockey League (NEWHL) office announced its weekly award winners for action ending November 17, naming Morrisville freshman goaltender, Sissy Harman (Eden, N.Y.) the Rookie of the Week for her performance across two games for the Mustangs.
Harman collected two wins in NEWHL action over the week’s action, as the Mustangs defeated Cortland 3-2 and followed with a win over Buffalo State, 3-1.
In the win over Cortland, Harman posted a season high 31 stops, 12 alone in the third, to seal the victory for the Mustangs.
She followed with 23 saves in the 3-1 win over Buffalo State, again turning away double digits in the third (10 stops) to seal the victory.
Across the week the freshman posted a 1.50 goals against average behind 53 total stops, a .946 save percentage.
Harman currently ranks fourth overall in the NEWHL in saves with 113 to date on the young season. Morrisville is 3-2-1 so far on the season, 2-1-1 in league play.
A graduate of Eden High and is majoring in nursing at SUNY Morrisville. She is the daughter of Denise Harman of Eden.
