The North American 3 Eastern Hockey League (NA3EHL) is pleased to annouce the two Top Prospect teams that will compete and be a part of the 2015 NA3HL Showcase, taking place from December 17-19 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. The NA3EHL selected two teams that represent the East Division and the West Division to play in three games each during the annual event.

This season marks the sixth straight year the NA3HL will hold a league-wide Showcase, which features some of the best junior talent in the United States. Last season, the NA3EHL participated in the event with one Top Prospects team, which showed very well at the Showcase, which included a win over eventual USA Hockey Tier III Junior National Champion, the North Iowa Bulls.

The NA3HL Showcase returns to Schwan Super Rink, where the NA3HL held its Showcase last season. All 34 NA3HL teams and the two NA3EHL Top Prospect teams will play three regular-season games at the Showcase, which is annually one of the most well-attended and scouted events of the entire season for the league, attracting college and junior scouts alike.

“The addition of the NA3EHL Top Prospect teams to this event makes it even better and will take the competition to the next level,” stated Denny Scanlon, who is Commissioner of both the NA3HL and NA3EHL. “More importantly, it provides exposure for the players, who will get to take part in this great event. It is a unique situation where the two leagues can compete against one another and will provide those players that are competing with some valuable experience.”

The NA3EHL East Division Top Prospects team’s head coach will be Alex Shindelman from the Skylands Kings and the Assistant Coach will be Neil Liston from the East Coast Minutemen. The NA3EHL West Division Top Prospects team will be coached by Jersey Shore head coach Eric Brule and the Assistant Coach will be Mike Stanaway from the New York Aviators.

In addition, NAHL Central Scouting will be on hand at the NA3HL Showcase in Blaine. NAHL Central Scouting is lead by Craig Barnett, Coordinator of Player of Personnel for both the NA3HL and NA3EHL. Barnett’s primary role is to coordinate the scouting at all league events, and to promote player advancement and to supply information to NAHL, NCAA and other junior and collegiate coaches.

In an effort to provide more opportunity to NA3EHL players in Blaine, the NAHL has once again tasked Barnett to present a NCAA Compliance and Education seminar. The 45-minute presentation scheduled for the NA3EHL teams to attend on Friday, December 18th in the Grand Hall of the National Sports Center. Barnett brings a wealth of knowledge and information that he will share during these seminars along with updates since last year. In addition, Scott Gray will speak on behalf of USA Hockey about Safe Sport as well as NAHL’s Mark Faucette on Player Safety.
