INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 3/5 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team (23-4-0) was one of eight teams to earn an automatic bid into the 2013 NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament on Sunday night after claiming the SUNYAC Championship. The Lakers received a first-round bye into the quarterfinal round where they will travel to Adrian, Michigan to face the No. 6/6 Adrian Bulldogs (23-1-3) on Saturday, March 9 at a time to be announced.
Ticket information will be released when it becomes available.
The last time both teams met was in a 2011 NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey semifinal that saw Adrian prevail by the score of 5-3.
The winner of the Oswego State/Adrian game is in the same half of the bracket with Norwich. Norwich will host the winner of Babson/Wentworth.
On the other side of the bracket, St. Norbert will host the winner of Wisconsin-Eau Claire/Saint John’s (MN) and Utica will host the winner of Bowdoin/UMass-Dartmouth in the other quarterfinal rounds.
