Attleboro, MA. –February 21, 2017- USA Hockey and New England Sports Village (NESV) announced today that 23 players have been invited to take part in a training camp at the New England Sports Village in Attleboro, Massachusetts from February 27-March 2, 2017. The camp is for postgraduate players who are active members of the women’s national team program and will be used to help evaluate their on-ice status and progress with the off-ice training program.
The roster features 18 members of the gold medal-winning 2016 U.S. Women’s National Team at the International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship. Those players are Kacey Bellamy (Westfield, Mass.), Megan Bozek (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), Alex Carpenter (North Reading, Mass.), Kendall Coyne (Palos Heights, Ill.), Shiann Darkangelo (Brighton, Mich.), Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.), Meghan Duggan (Danvers. Mass.), Nicole Hensley (Lakewood, Colo.), Zoe Hickel (Anchorage, Alaska), Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho) Monique Lamoureux-Morando (Grand Forks, N.D.), Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson (Grand Forks, N.D.), Amanda Pelkey (Montpelier, Vt.), Emily Pfalzer (Getzville, N.Y.), Alex Rigsby (Delafield, Wis.), Haley Skarupa (Rockville, Md.), Kelli Stack (Brooklyn Heights, Ohio) and Dana Trivigno (Setauket, N.Y.).
The 23 players represent 13 different states. Minnesota leads the pack with four representatives followed by Massachusetts and Wisconsin with three. Illinois, New York and North Dakota have two, while Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Ohio, Maryland, Michigan and Vermont all have one.
NOTES: All practices and scrimmages at the training camp will be open to the public, including a game against the Boston Advantage, an under-18 boys team, on March 1 at 5 p.m. ET. Select players will take part in an autograph session after the game. Prior to the camp, some players will participate in a on-ice girls clinic on February 26 at 3 p.m. ET.
