Turning away from the press of RPI freshman defenseman Kyle Hallbauer, Steeves threw the puck at the net and it found its way past sophomore goaltender Linden Marshall for a 3-0 lead.
Cam Morrison then made it 4-0, just 32 second later, when his shot from the low slot flipped into the top left corner of the yet. Taking a pass from senior captain Tommy Grant, Hallbauer picked out the top left corner of the net, from between the circles, for his first collegiate tally. Junior Todd Burgess had the second assist on the even strength marker.
