CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – First-year forward Matthew Coronato earned ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced.

For the Greenlawn, N.Y. native, it is his first conference weekly honor after scoring two goals at Yale and leading the team with 14 shots on goal on the weekend. On Friday night at Brown, Coronato had seven shots on goal, and followed that up with a team-high seven shots at Yale.

He broke Harvard’s two-game goal-scoring drought, scoring on a breakaway in the opening minutes of the first period at Yale to tie the game at 1-1. He later helped seal the 5-3 win with an empty net goal for his second career multiple-goal game.

Coronato was named to the U.S. World Junior preliminary roster and will participate in pre-tournament camp at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan from Dec. 12-15.
