Rochester, New York – Over 1,400 ice hockey players and family members will come together this weekend for the New York State Amateur Hockey Association State Championship Tournament this weekend. The annual championship event is taking place at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex and runs March 6th through the 8th.
In total 40 youth hockey teams will compete, of which 34 teams will travel into Rochester from all around the state of New York.
These 34 out of town teams equates to roughly 1200 out of town guests that will reside in local hotels, dine in local restaurants and shop in local stores over a three day period. The economic impact to the surrounding area for events such as these are substantial as a large number of guests call Rochester home for an extended stay.
The event will feature competition at the following levels;

Girls Tier 2 14U & 19U
Boys Tier 1 14U
Boys Tier 2 14U
