SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Syracuse standout Allie Olnowich has signed a contract with the National Women’s Hockey League’s (NWHL) Metropolitan Riveters. The 2020 Syracuse University graduate played in 131 games for the Orange on defense. She recorded 12 points, including five goals and seven assists. The Chatham, N.J. native earned her degree in sport management from the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics.
Olnowich played for the 2017-18 Syracuse team that won the College Hockey America (CHA) championship and earned the program’s first invitation to the NCAA Championship. She is a four-time CHA All-Academic Team honoree.
Olnowich joins a skilled Riveters defense that includes veterans Kiira Dosdall-Arena, Rebecca Morse and Leila Kilduff, and first-year NWHL players Saroya Tinker (the team’s first pick in the 2020 Draft), Czech Republic National Team player Sammy Kolowrat, Sam Fieseler, and 2020 fourth-round draft selection Bridgette Prentiss.
The NWHL will play the upcoming season and the 2021 Isobel Cup Playoffs at the 1980 Rink-Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY between January 23 – February 5, 2021.
