Olson Earns All-USCHO Honors

Hobart College senior forward Mac Olson (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) continues to earn awards after an outstanding Statesmen hockey career. Most recently, he earned a spot on the All-USCHO third team.

The AHCA first team All-American played in all 28 games this winter. He was tabbed the ECAC West Player of the Year, earned a spot on the All-ECAC West first team, and was named a finalist for the Sid Watson Award (Division III Player of the Year). Olson ranked second on the team, matching a career-high, with 27 points on 13 goals and 14 assists. He posted a hat trick and added an assist in a 5-3 win over Nazareth. Olson notched the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Skidmore, and assisted on two goals in the Statesmen’s 3-0 shutout of Neumann in the ECAC West tournament semifinals. He produced two or more points in six games, all victories, for Hobart.

Olson played in 103 games in his Hobart career. He logged 45 goals and 50 assists for 95 career points. Olson notched nine career game-winning goals. He served as captain as a senior and an alternate captain as a junior. Olson garnered ECAC West All-Academic honors three years in a row. He was named to the All-ECAC West second team as a sophomore and to the ECAC West All-Rookie Team as a first-year. In 2012-13, he was tabbed the ECAC West’s Rookie of the Year.

Olson and the Hobart hockey Class of 2016 guided the team to a 75-26-8 (.725) four-year record. The Class of 2016 posted the most wins and highest winning percentage for a graduating class in Hobart hockey history.
