NDIANAPOLIS – The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team climbed to No. 3 in the East Region in the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Regional rankings that were released Wednesday evening. The Lakers, who have an overall record of 22-4-0, sit behind Norwich at No. 1 and Utica at No. 2. Bowdoin remained at No. 4, while Babson moved into the No. 5 spot and Hobart dropped to No. 6. Used to determine both NCAA tournament bids and seedings, these are the final rankings released before the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament bracket is released on Sunday, March 3.
In the national polls released on Monday, Oswego State remained at the No. 3 position in the USCHO.com poll, while it moved up one spot to No. 5 in the D3hockey.com poll. Norwich and Wisconsin-Eau Claire were ranked first and second in each poll, respectively.
The Lakers host No. 7/9 Plattsburgh on Saturday night in the SUNYAC Championship at 7 p.m.
