De Pere, Wisc. – The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team erased a two-goal deficit late on Saturday but surrendered a goal with just under three minutes remaining in regulation to fall 3-2 to host St. Norbert. Oswego’s loss drops the team to 8-4—1 on the year.
Facing a 2-0 margin in the second period, Erika Truschke found the back of the net at 18:15 on passes from Mady Pauland Ashley Lyman to cut the St. Norbert lead in half heading to the final intermission.
With just 15 seconds left on a power-play opportunity for the Lakers, Kendall Appelbaum did not allow the team to squander the chance. She notched a goal at 8:15 to pull the game to even at 2-2. Paul earned her second assist of the day on the goal while Alli Ullrich also tallied an assist.
Much like the Lakers did to tie the game, however, St. Norbert used a man-up situation to take back the lead and score the eventual game winner with just under four minutes to play.
