POTSDAM, N.Y.-Two SUNY Potsdam women’s hockey players have been honored by the ECAC West for their play during week ending Dec. 13. Junior forward Jordan Ott (Hilton, N.Y./Rochester Edge) has been named the conference’s Player of the Week, while freshman defenseman Rylie Murray (Berkley, Mich./Honeybaked) earned the Rookie of the Week award.

Ott had four points in the Bears’ weekend sweep of New England College and Becker College. The junior scored a goal in Saturday’s 3-1 win over the Pilgrims. She then single-handedly erased a 2-0 third-period deficit against the Hawks before assisting on the game-winner in the 3-2 victory.

Ott leads the team in scoring again this season with 10 goals and two assists for 12 points in 14 contests. She ranks fourth on the program’s all-time scoring list with 42 goals and 28 assists for 70 points. She need just two goals to tie Annmarie Lewis ’12 for the most goals scored by a Bear in program history.

Murray had a goal and an assist in Potsdam’s two wins. The freshman notched the game-winner against the Pilgrims on Saturday and assisted on the game-winner against the Hawks on Sunday. Murray has three goals and three assists for six points so far in her first collegiate season.

Potsdam is now off until Jan. 12, when the Bears head to Clinton, N.Y. for a 3 p.m. battle with Hamilton College.
