Ottawa Recalls Mike Bluden From Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Ottawa Senators have recalled forward Mike Blunden from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Blunden, 29, has appeared in all nine games for the B-Sens this season. The Toronto, Ont. native is tied for the team lead with three goals and is tied for second with four points. On Sunday, Blunden scored his third goal of the year to help the B-Sens defeat the Springfield Thunderbirds 2-1.

Blunden has played in 124 career National Hockey League games and has seven goals, six assists, and 141 penalty minutes with the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning. Blunden was drafted by Chicago in the second-round pick (43rd overall) in the 2005 NHL Draft.

The B-Sens return home this Friday and Saturday for Military Appreciation Weekend against Providence and Springfield. Following the game on Saturday, fans can enjoy a postgame skate along with a specialty jersey auction. Binghamton will be wearing special jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit Wounded Warriors.
