UTICA, NY- Freshman Lauren Patterson (Burlington, Ontario/Oakville) of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the ECAC West Rookie of the Week, Tuesday. This marks the third time this season that Patterson has earned the honor.
The Burlington, Ontario native totaled four points in a weekend sweep of SUNY Potsdam. On Friday, she had one assist in UC’s 3-0 win. She followed that up by matching her career-high of three points with one goal and two assists as the Pioneers topped the Bears 4-2 on Saturday. On the season, she ranks third on the team with 21 points and her 1.24 points per game ranks third in the nation for rookie scoring.
The Pioneers, who are currently receiving votes in both national polls, return to action this weekend as they host ECAC West Conference opponent, Neumann University. Friday’s game will be at 7 p.m. while Saturday’s faceoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
