Paulsen Named Asst. Coach of New York Riveters

New York, NY — Sis Paulsen, former women’s hockey head coach at New England College, has been named Assistant Coach of the New York Riveters for the 2016-17 season, General Manager Chad Wiseman announced Thursday.

“I am honored and humbled to work alongside Coach Wiseman and the entire Riveters organization,” said Paulsen. “The NWHL is made up of the best female hockey players in the world and I am excited to work with these elite athletes.”

Paulsen played at the University of Wisconsin from 1999 to 2003, and earned her Master of Science in Sports and Recreation Management (Coaching) in 2011 from New England College. Paulsen is also a Level 4 graduate of USA Hockey’s Coaching Education Program.

After serving as head coach at New England College from 2009 to 2013, Paulsen became the Director of Girls Hockey for the New Jersey Colonials organization. She is also the USA Hockey Girls and Women’s Section Representative for the Atlantic District.

Paulsen joins General Manager Chad Wiseman, who will also serve as the team’s head coach, on the Riveters’ bench this season.

About the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL)
The NWHL is the first professional women’s hockey league in North America to pay its players. The inaugural season began October 11, 2015 with the Founding Four: Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale and New York Riveters. The Boston Pride became the first team in NWHL history to raise the Isobel Cup on March 12, 2016.
