CORTLAND, N.Y. – The nationally fifth-ranked Plattsburgh men’s hockey team scored four unanswered goals in the third period to break a 1-1 tie and skated to a 5-1 victory at Cortland Saturday night in SUNYAC action at Alumni Arena.
Senior Mike Davie (Brooklyn/NY Apple Core) netted the goal for the Red Dragons (1-3-1 overall, 1-3-1 SUNYAC) with sophomore Darren McCormick (Buffalo/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) and freshman Michael Crowley (Buffalo/Springfield Blues) each recording an assist. Sophomore goaltender Drew Weigman (Gaithersburg, MD/Northern Cyclones) turned aside 47 shots.
Five different players each scored a goal for the Cardinals (5-0, 4-0). Senior Michael Radisa (Caledon, ON/Trenton Golden Hawks) tallied a goal and an assist, while seniors Connor Gorman (Shrewsbury, MA/New Hampshire Monarchs) and Rich Botting (Binghamton/Hartford Jr. Wolfpack), junior Kyle Hall (Assiniboia, SK/Battlefords North Stars) and sophomore Ayrton Valente (Woodbridge, ON/Mississauga Chargers) scored one goal apiece and sophomore Brandon O’Quinn (Belleville, ON/Kingston Voyageurs) contributed two assists.
