Plattsburgh State’s Ivy Boric Named NEWHL Player of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Junior forward Ivy Boric (Newport Beach, Calif./Anaheim Lady Ducks) of No. 1 Plattsburgh State women’s ice hockey has been named the Northeast Women’s Hockey League (NEWHL) Player of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Nov. 14, as announced by the conference office. 

Boric earned the honor by tallying three goals (one power-play goal), five assists, eight points, 13 shots on goal, two blocked shots and a +7 rating to help Plattsburgh State to a 3-0-0 record last week. With her performance on the week, Boric moved into second place in the NEWHL in points (10) this season. She is also tied for the conference lead in assists (7). 

Boric began the week by tallying two assists with a +2 rating during Plattsburgh State’s 4-1 win over No. 7 Norwich University on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. With the win over the Cadets, Plattsburgh State extended its NCAA Division III women’s ice hockey record home-winning streak to 42 games.  

She continued her outstanding week with two goals, two assists, four points and a +4 rating in the Cardinals’ 7-0 NEWHL win at Buffalo State on Friday, Nov. 12. One of Boric’s assists against the Bengals was on the game-winning goal. 

Boric concluded the week with one power-play goal, one assist, two points, two blocked shots and a +1 rating in the Cardinals’ 5-0 NEWHL victory at Oswego State on Saturday, Nov. 13.   

This is the first NEWHL Player of the Week honor of Boric’s career.

Plattsburgh State continues the 2021-22 regular season with a two-game NEWHL series against Morrisville State at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, and at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, inside the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
