CORTLAND, N.Y. – Sophomore Dylan Vander Esch (San Jose, CA/Hartford Wolfpack) scored a pair of third-period goals to lead the Potsdam men’s hockey team to a 4-2 win Friday night in SUNYAC action at Alumni Arena.

Senior Mike Davie (Brooklyn/NY Apple Core) and freshman Spencer Gourlay (Carlisle, ON/Halton Ravens) scored goals for the Red Dragons (1-2-1 overall, 1-2-1 SUNYAC) with Gourlay’s being the first of his career. Senior Kyle Herring (Valencia, CA/Rochester Stars), sophomores Andrew McCann (Bowmanville, ON/Wellington Dukes) and Darren McCormick (Buffalo/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) and freshman Michael Crowley (Buffalo/Springfield Blues) each recorded an assist. Sophomore goalie Drew Weigman (Gaithersburg, MD/Northern Cyclones) made 27 saves.

Freshman Tyler Donaldson (Northumberland, ON/Trenton Golden Hawks) added a goal and an assist for the Bears (5-0, 5-0). Junior Vinny Caligiuri (Shoreham/Hartford Wolfpack) also netted a goal for Potsdam. Sophomore goalie Brendan McMenimen (Merrimac, MA/Islanders Hockey Club) turned aside 47 shots.
