POTSDAM, N.Y—SUNY Potsdam men’s hockey player Brendan McMenimen (Merrimack, Mass./Islanders Hockey Club) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference’s Goalie of the Week. It’s the fifth time in his career he has claimed the award.
McMenimen made 30 saves in the Bears’ 3-1 victory over Plattsburgh State on Saturday night. Twelve of his stops came in the third period alone. The win was the 15th of his career, placing him ninth on Potsdam’s all-time wins list. McMenimen is currently 3-1-1 this season, with a 2.56 goals-against-average and ranks second in the SUNYAC with a .925 save percentage.
The Bears are back in action tomorrow night when they head to Elmira College for a 7 p.m. battle with the Soaring Eagles.
