POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam women’s hockey player Natalie Wasielewski (Carnegie, Pa./Pittsburgh Penguin Elite) has been named the Northeast Women’s Hockey League’s Rookie of the Week after a weekend sweep of Morrisville State. It’s the third time in four weeks a Bear has claimed the honor.

On Saturday, Wasielewski scored two goals and assisted on the game-winner in Potsdam’s 5-2 win at Morrisville. Just eight games into her collegiate career the freshman forward has four goals and three assists for seven points to lead the Bears in scoring.

Potsdam is off until Friday, Dec. 1, when the Bears travel to Plattsburgh State for a meeting with the defending national champs at 7 p.m.
