NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara hockey team kept its position in the latest USCHO.com Division I poll this week, according to the newest poll released on Monday.

The Purple Eagles held firm at 17th in the rankings with 180 points to remain in the poll for the program-best tenth straight week.   The USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine College Hockey Poll has Niagara receiving 17 votes, while the NCAA Tournament PairWise Comparison Ratings has NU in 17th.

Niagara went 1-0-1 against Atlantic Hockey opponent, RIT, securing a 3-3 draw to the Tigers on Friday night before rebounding for a 6-4 victory over RIT on Saturday.  Ryan Rashid, who was named AHA Player of the Week, scored three goals and added an assist in the pair of games.

The Purps will look to retain their grip on the top spot in the AHA standings with a pair of conference matchups this weekend, when they host the Bentley Falcons on Friday (Feb. 1) and Saturday (Feb. 2) at Dwyer Arena.
