BROOKLYN – The New York Islanders announced that Alan Quine has agreed to terms on a two-year deal.
Quine, 23, made his NHL debut last season with the Islanders, appearing in the club’s final two regular-season games and all 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games. The Belleville, ON, native scored six points (two goals, four assists) with the Islanders, including an overtime goal in Game 5 of the first-round series against the Florida Panters.
The Islanders selected Quine in the sixth round (166th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. Last season, the third-year pro recorded 19 goals and 29 assists in 56 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. He represented the Sound Tigers in the AHL All-Star Classic. In 191 career games with Bridgeport, Quine has recorded 50 goals and 87 assists.
Quine played four years of junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kingston Frontenacs, Peterborough Petes and Belleville Bulls. On the international stage, he won gold with Team Canada at the 2011 Hlinka Memorial Tournament and won silver with Team Ontario at the 2010 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
