Raiders Take on Quinnipiac in ECAC Hockey Semifinals on Friday Night

HAMILTON – With a weekend sweep over St. Lawrence, the Raiders are back in both national polls at No. 14 in the nation.

Colgate (19-12-5) jumped up three spots in the USCHO.com National Poll to 14th, while earning the same spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine National Poll.

The Raiders are one of four ECAC Hockey teams heading to Lake Placid and all four are ranked in the top-15. Union got bumped up to No. 2 in the country and received first-place votes. Quinnipiac is sitting at fifth, while Cornell dropped to 13th after going the distance in its quarterfinal series against Clarkson.

Colgate has been ranked for five-straight weeks, but it is only the second time this season the Raiders are in the top-15.  They are still enjoying their run in 2014 with a 12-3-3 mark since the tie with No. 1 Minnesota on Jan.3. Colgate enters the ECAC Hockey semifinals on a three-game winning streak and the Raiders have gone unbeaten in eight of the last nine games. The lone loss was a 2-1 decision against Harvard.
