ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester Institute of Technology head men’s ice hockey coach Wayne Wilson announced three captains for the 2020-21 campaign. Rising senior Alden Dupuis (Edmonton, Alberta/Bonnyville Pontiacs) will serve as team captain, while classmate Dan Willett (Bayville, NY/Bloomington Thunder) and rising junior Will Calverley (Scarborough, Ontario/Chilliwack Chiefs) were tabbed assistant captains.

“I am really proud to announce our captains for the 2000-21 season. Our leadership team will do an outstanding job of leading our squad. They will continue to represent our team, not only on the ice, but in the weight room, classroom and community. I look forward to seeing if they can lead this new team to another championship this year.”

Dupuis tied for seventh with 17 points on eight goals and nine assists during 28 games last season. The centerman also finished second on the team with 215 face-off victories, including a season-high 13-of-21 in the Tigers’ 3-3 tie opposite visiting Holy Cross (Nov. 2) after winning 12-of-18 the previous night in a 7-4 win over the Crusaders. Dupuis enters his final season with 51 career points on 25 goals and 26 assists in 102 appearances, including five career power play goals that will be tied for the highest total in the nation among returners.

Willett played 35 of 36 games on the Tiger blue line last season, finishing third in assists and ninth in scoring with 16 assists. He has 52 points in 108 career appearances, including his 50th career point on a first-period assist during RIT’s 5-1 win over visiting Bentley (Feb. 15), while leading all Tiger returners with 47 assists.

Calverley finished his sophomore campaign second on the squad with 13 goals as well as sixth with 23 points. The centerman led the Tigers with 244 face-off victories, including a season-high 16 during a 3-2 OT home victory opposite Niagara (Feb. 22).
