ROCHESTER, NY – (RIT Photo) – Sophomore forward Erik Brown (Keene, Ontario/Kemptville 73’s) and junior defenseman Brady Norrish (Strongfield, Saskatchewan/Yorkton Terriers) earned Atlantic Hockey Conference weekly honors on Tuesday, for the week ending Oct. 30, 2016. Brown was named the Atlantic Hockey Offensive Player of the Week and Norrish was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Brown recorded five points on three goals and two assists, and was plus-3 in a weekend sweep at Bentley. On Friday, Brown scored an empty-net goal and was plus-1 in a 4-1 win. Saturday, Brown tallied a career-high four points on two goals and two assists and was plus-2 in a 6-3 win. He opened the scoring with a power-play goal early in the first period and drew assists on consecutive goals 28 seconds apart late in the second. Brown would put the game away with his goal late in the third period. Brown leads the team in scoring with 10 points on six goals and four assists in seven games this season. He has five goals and eight points over his last four games.
Norrish dished out four assists, blocked three shots, was plus-3, and helped keep Bentley’s top line off the scoreboard all weekend, as RIT rolled to the sweep. On Friday, Norrish tied a career-high with three assists and was plus-2 in a 4-1 win. Saturday, he tallied an assist, blocked three shots, and was plus-1 in a 6-3 win. Norrish leads all RIT players with eight assists in seven games this season. He has a point in six of seven games.
RIT is right back in action this weekend with a home-and-home series against league foe Canisius College. Friday’s game from HARBORCENTER in Buffalo is at 7:35 p.m., while Saturday’s contest from the Gene Polisseni Center is at 7:05 p.m.
