RIT’s Skirving Named Rookie of Month

 Freshman forward Todd Skirving (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Sioux Falls Stampede)of the RIT men’s hockey team was named the Atlantic Hockey Association November, 2013 Rookie of the Month, announced by the league on Wednesday.

Skirving tallied nine points on three goals and six assists in six games for the Tigers in November. After missing the first two games of the month to injury, Skirving returned to score his first collegiate goal in a 4-2 win over Robert Morris on Nov. 9. He added two assists in a loss to Canisius on Nov. 19 and tallied a season-best three points on a goal and two assists in a loss to St. Lawrence on Nov. 22. He added an assist the next night and tallied a pair of points on a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win over Sacred Heart on Nov. 29. Skirving was named the AHA Rookie of the Week on Nov. 26.

The Tigers have won three straight games and are back in action this weekend with a pair of home games against American International. Both games from Ritter Arena get underway on Friday andSaturday at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available for both contests.
