Roc City tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Cape Cod held on for a 4-2 victory.
Cape Cod made the score 4-1 on a goal by Aaron Deady at 9:37 in the second period, and Roc City got as close as 4-2 when Sam Cammilleri scored 12:33 into the third period.
Cape Cod capitalized on Roc City’s penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage.
Roc City also got a goal from Joey Saraceni as well. In addition, Roc City received assists from Anthony DePetres, who had two and Cameron Clark and Joseph Gardner, who each chipped in one.
Anton Zemba recorded 27 saves for Cape Cod. Cape Cod incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ian Stahl took the loss and made nine saves before being replaced by Justin Nevinger who made 16 saves. Roc City totaled 35 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Roc City ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cole Whitehead was ejected from the game.
