Rochester, New York – The Rochester Edge Girls Hockey Program and Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex have partnered to host a free, all girls try hockey program which starts this April.
The five week program runs on Monday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and is designed for girls ages 5 to 16. No experience is required and full equipment is provided for each session. Instruction will be provided from local professional players, women’s collegiate hockey players, Maksymum Hockey instructors along with Rochester Edge coaches and players.
“We are thrilled to bring this program back.” states Jeff Kolcon, Interim Director for the Edge Program. “There are over 20 girls that went through this program 10 years ago that are playing NCAA college hockey now. More importantly, a large number beyond that are lifelong hockey players.”
“We are very excited to be the host for an event such as this,” said Erik Geller, Director of Hockey at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex. “One of our main goals is to introduce local children to ice sports, which in turn leads to exercise and healthier lifestyles for those children. We aim to do this at little to no cost when possible, so we are proud to have the Rochester Edge as a partner, which enables us to offer this at no cost to all participants.”

Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex is a 170,000 square foot, multi-sport facility located on the campus of Monroe Community College.
