ALBANY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men’s hockey team hosts its 24th annual Golf Tournament at Shaker Ridge Country Club on Monday. Participants received a gift and enjoyed lunch and dinner, while getting to know the new players and staff throughout the day.
The threesome of Paul Sullivan, Paul Tarsa and Kevin Tarsa shot an event-best 61, while Matt McGarvey, Chris McGarvey, Gerry McGarvey and Don Kruse tied the group that included Dino Macaluso, Joe Macaluso, Steve Hudak and Mike Wormely for second place with matching scores of 63.
Gerry McGarvey won the Closest to the Pin contest on the men’s side drawing with 2’8″, while Karen McElroy took the honor on the women’s side with a 16’1″. Longest Drive honors went to Alex Morin and Bev Burnett, respectively.
Rensselaer opens its 2017-18 schedule with an exhibition game against St. Mary’s (N.S.) on September 30 (5pm), before hitting the road for a two-game series at Ohio State on October 13 and 14.
