BUFFALO, N.Y. (January 22, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forward Cal O’Reilly from the Rochester Americans (AHL).
O’Reilly (6’0”, 191 lbs., 9/30/1986) appeared in two games with the Sabres in December, logging one assist and a plus-1 rating. In 35 games with the Americans this season, O’Reilly has 23 points (4+19) and four penalty minutes, leading the team in assists and points per game (0.66).
A fifth-round pick (150th overall) in the 2005 NHL Draft, O’Reilly has appeared in 115 NHL games in parts of five seasons with the Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, Phoenix Coyotes and Nashville Predators, logging 42 career points (13+29) and 12 penalty minutes.
In a corresponding move, Zemgus Girgensons has been placed on injured reserve.
