BUFFALO, N.Y.— The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed forward Evan Rodrigues to a two-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $650,000. The first year of the contract is a two-way deal, and the second year is one-way.
Rodrigues (5’10”, 183 lbs., 7/28/1993) registered six points (4+2) in 30 games for the team in 2016-17. In 32 total NHL games since signing with the Sabres in April 2015, the Etobicoke, Ontario native has recorded eight points (5+3) and four penalty minutes.
Rodrigues also appeared in his second season with the Rochester Americans in 2016-17, matching his AHL rookie totals in goals (9), assists (21) and points (30) despite appearing in 24 fewer games for the team (48) during his sophomore season. His 60 total points (18+42) in the last two seasons with Rochester rank him fifth among all Amerks players during that span.
