UTICA, NY- Senior Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the ECAC West Player of the week, Monday.
Schnepp moved into fourth place on the College’s career scoring list with 114 career points as she had two goals and two assists to help Utica to a trio of wins last week. On Tuesday, she scored an insurance goal with just over a minute remaining in regulation to help the Pioneers down Potsdam 3-1. On Friday, she had two assists in Utica’s 6-0 win over the Red Dragons, she followed that up with a goal in UC’s 4-2 win on Saturday. On the season, she leads the team with 27 points and 20 assists.
The Pioneers are on a seven-game winning streak and they are also 7-1-1 in their last nine. They recently made the conference tournament for the 15th time in the program’s 16-year history. UC will host fifth-seeded Oswego State on Thursday in the ECAC West quarterfinal. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
