Maksymum Hockey is proud to announce the additions of Cory Schneider and John Cullen to our staff of instructors. |
A native of Rochester, Cory played four seasons at Ohio State and served as captain of the Buckeyes during his senior year. Cory helped OSU to an appearance in the NCAA tournament, and was honored with the Buckeyes Most Impoved Player award after his sophomore campaign. During his time in Columbus, Cory also won the Big Ten Conference Sportsmanship Award.
After college Cory played professionally in the ECHL with Fort Wayne, Cincinnati, and Fort Worth. Cory played youth hockey for Rochester Youth Hockey and also starred at Penfield High School, leading the Patriots to the Section V final in 2004 as a first team all-county performer. |
Cory brings many years of experience as a hockey instructor to Maksymum, including three years at Ohio State summer hockey camps. |
John originally started working with Maksymum while playing for the Maksymum Junior Empire team in 2007-2008 when he was named Empire Goalie of the Year. John was then selected to the USA U-18 team during the Summer of 2008 for the annual Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament held in the Czech Republic. After representing his country, John began his Major Junior and professional career playing for Kingston, Sarnia, and Windsor of the OHL. He also attended training camp with the Buffalo Sabres in 2011. |
During his time playing junior and pro hockey John was consistently involved in the communities where he played, even creating his own charitable literacy initiative dubbed “Cully’s Kids.” For these efforts, John was nominated for Humanitarian of the Year for the OHL in 2009 and 2012.
John has also been a goaltending coach with various youth hockey teams and summer camps across Western New York and Southern Ontario since 2007. |
